Booking Terms and Conditions – Kids Parties

MAXIMUM ATTENDANCE

(a) Disco & Games Parties – 40 Children. (b) School Discos – Unlimited. (c) Teenage Parties – Unlimited.
Please note: The maximum attendance is set for safety & enjoyment reasons. We do not include parents or toddlers/babies in the attendance numbers.

ENTERTAINER ARRIVAL TIME

  1. Mighty Mike will arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your party start time & will take the same amount of time to set down after the party has finished.
  2. If your party is upstairs, please add an additional 15 minutes for setting up and down.
  3. If you have chosen a disco upgrade, Mighty Mike will arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the party start time & will take the same amount of time to set down after the party has finished. Please get in touch if you require further details.


FOOD BREAK & BIRTHDAY CAKE

If your party is for 2 hours or longer, Mighty Mike will stop halfway through to allow the children a 20-30 minute food break & to sing Happy Birthday to the birthday child. If you require more or less time for eating, or if you are feeding the children after the party, please let Mighty Mike know. The party timings and running order will be discussed in more detail on the day once Mighty Mike has arrived.

MUSIC LISTS
Please feel free to send us a list of your child's favourite songs at your earliest convenience to [email protected] or you are welcome to send these via Facebook messenger / WhatsApp. We recommend a maximum of 5 – 10 songs. This will allow Mighty Mike to also choose a selection of proven, age-appropriate songs to keep the party energetic & fun!

CONSOLATION SWEETS AND FOOD ALLERGIES
We supply consolation sweets and sweet prizes at most of our children's parties. Should you or your guests have any food allergies or are unable to eat certain ingredients due to religious reasons, please notify us as soon as possible.

OUTDOOR PARTIES
For safety reasons, we are unable to use our disco equipment outside in wet weather. If you are holding your party outside, please ensure you have a contingency plan in the event of any rain, such as holding the party in your home or supplying a marquee or gazebo.

PARTY ESSENTIALS
Please be aware that we do not supply any of the following party items or services within our children's parties and it is, therefore, the responsibility of the party host to provide where required: Party venue, Food, Decoration, Partyware (plates, cups etc) or Party bags.

DEPOSIT PAYMENT
All bookings are only secured once a £50 deposit is paid. We offer a 7-day cooling-off period; if you choose to cancel your party within this timeframe, your deposit will be refunded in full. The deposit payment is non-refundable if you wish to cancel your booking outside of the cooling-off period.

CANCELLING YOUR PARTY

If you need to cancel your party for any reason, please get in touch as soon as possible. When cancelling, you will be presented with the following options:

  1. Cancel & transfer your party free of charge up to 1 year away from your original party date. Any deposit paid will be moved to your new party date. All we ask is that you provide us with the new party date within 30 days of cancellation (this can be extended in exceptional circumstances). Should you fail to provide us with a new party date within 30 days, regrettably, your booking will be cancelled, and any deposit paid will be non-refundable.
  2. If you are cancelling after 7 days of making your booking and you do not wish to use our cancel and transfer option, regrettably, your deposit payment will be non-refundable.
  3. If you fail to notify us of any booking cancellation within 24 hours of your party date, we reserve the right to charge a late cancellation fee of £50.
  4. If Mighty Mike arrives at your party venue on the date and time stated on your booking confirmation and you are not in attendance and have not cancelled your party in writing, we reserve the right to charge for the remaining party balance.

IF MIGHTY MIKE CANCELS YOUR PARTY

We will only ever cancel your party in the extremely unlikely event that we are prevented from attending due to circumstances beyond our control. If we have no other option but to cancel your party, we will refund any deposit paid in full and endeavour to find a replacement entertainment service for your event. However, we will not be held liable for any direct or indirect loss that you may suffer because of a cancellation.

Please note: our refund policy does not apply in the following circumstances:

  1. If you need to cancel your party for whatever reason
  2. In the event of snow or other adverse weather conditions
  3. In the event of fire or flooding of your party venue or the surrounding areas
  4. In the event of a national lockdown or any other government restrictions
  5. If your party venue cancels on you

VENUE SMOKE ALARMS AND SOUND LIMITERS

If you have chosen a smoke machine for your party or you have upgraded the disco (Disco upgrades come with a smoke machine) please check with your venue that the use of smoke is permitted. Your party venue could have a smoke alarm fitted and the smoke machine may trigger this. If your party venue has a sound limiter fitted, Mighty Mike will do his very best to work within the confines of the limiter. However, due to the natural noise of children within a party environment, we are unable to guarantee that any sound limiter will not be triggered, which may result in the power being temporarily cut. The power should then return within a few minutes. Please check with your venue with regards to any sound limiters and how they operate.

MAGIC, DISCO & GAMES PARTY CUSTOMERS ONLY

Where possible, we politely request that a small table is provided for performing the magic show.

UV GLOW & LASER PARTY CUSTOMERS ONLY

To get the best out of the UV lighting, please ask the children to dress in white, neon or fluorescent clothing/shoes and aim to make your party venue as dark as possible. For this reason, we recommend checking in advance that your party venue has blinds or curtains and does not have a skylight. If you are using glow accessories, please be aware that any leakage can stain clothing, as can neon face & body paint.


Booking Terms and Conditions – Adult Parties & Weddings

The following terms and conditions apply to Mighty Mike and all other DJs booked through Mighty Mike Entertainment.

BOOKING PROCESS

When making a booking enquiry your party date can be provisionally saved for up to one week (upon request). We reserve the right to accept other bookings for the date in question until the deposit payment is received. To confirm a booking, you must fill out the booking form and pay the deposit payment.

DEPOSIT PAYMENT

All bookings are only secured once a £50 deposit is paid. We offer a 7-day cooling-off period; if you choose to cancel your party within this timeframe, your deposit will be refunded in full. If you wish to cancel your booking outside of the cooling-off period, the deposit payment is non-refundable.

CANCELLING YOUR PARTY

DJ ARRIVAL TIME & ACCESS REQUIREMENTS

The DJ will arrive approximately 60 minutes prior to your event start time & may require up to 60 minutes to set down after the event has finished.
If your party is upstairs, please allow an additional 15 minutes for setting up and down.
Please ensure that a parking space is allocated to your DJ for the duration of the event as close as possible to the entrance nearest to the setup area.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the function room is equipped with at least two standard 230 volt / 13 amp electrical sockets for the sole use of the DJ, within 10 metres of the proposed setup area.

OUTDOOR PARTIES

A marquee or shelter must be provided by the client/venue for the sole use of the DJ and the client will ensure that the supplied electrical power is 100% safe, fully regulated and impossible to be shorted by ingress of water. The client will also ensure that the DJ setup/performance area is completely waterproof. In the event of dry/sunny weather, a marquee or shelter must still be provided to offer shade/sun protection. The DJ reserves the right to suspend the engagement if the performance area becomes unsafe in any manner.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO

We reserve the right to take photos & videos during your event. The photos & videos may be used for promotional purposes on our website, social media platforms and in printed format. You are more than welcome to have copies after the event, upon request. Should you not wish any photos and/or video to be taken, please inform us in writing prior to the event.

PUBLIC LIABILITY

We are not liable in any way for any injuries that may occur to third parties due to the actions of the client, guests, customers, or staff. This may include, but is not restricted to inebriation, use of drugs or other (self) abusive actions.

VENUE SOUND LIMITERS & SMOKE ALARMS

If your venue has a sound limiter fitted, the DJ will do his very best to work within the confines of the limiter. However, due to the natural noise within a party environment, we are unable to guarantee that any sound limiter will not be triggered, which may result in the power being temporarily cut. The power should then return within a few minutes. Please check with your venue with regards to any sound limiters and how they operate. Your venue may also have a smoke alarm fitted; if you’d like smoke/haze at your event it’s the client’s responsibility to check with the venue prior to the party date and inform the DJ beforehand.

MUSIC LIST

Please feel free to send us a list of your favourite songs at your earliest convenience to [email protected]. You may request specific songs or tell us what your favourite genres/Eras are. If providing a song list, we recommend a maximum of 20 songs for a 5-hour party. This will allow the DJ to use their experience to read the room and choose a selection of proven, appropriate songs to suit the crowd.

USE OF OUR EQUIPMENT

Our equipment is for the use of the DJ only. Any third party wishing to use our equipment must contact us prior to the date (Fees may apply).
We will allow the use of a microphone for speeches. We will not however tolerate any bad language or anything that may put our equipment at risk.
Any damage to our equipment because of negligence by yourselves, any member of your party, or third party will result in an invoice being sent for the market value of replacement of the damaged equipment, along with any hire charges incurred whilst a replacement is sought. This invoice must be paid within 7 days.
Unless booked prior, karaoke facilities will not be available in any form.
We reserve the right to refuse any person’s permission to use our equipment.

DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT

Unless given permission no guest/member of staff may use or move any equipment belonging to the DJ. The client will ensure there is adequate supervision of guests, customers, and staff at the event and will be liable for any loss of or damage to our equipment, vehicles, or personal belongings, whether caused by the client, guests, customers, staff, or any other person(s) within the outside perimeter of the venue and its car parking facilities.

PERSONAL SAFETY / VENUE SAFETY

If we deem any persons or property to be under threat, verbally or physically, the DJ reserves the right to terminate any services without notice and without recourse. In such circumstances, no refunds will be made, and the full fee / remaining party balance is still payable.
Under no circumstances may unauthorised personnel tamper, remove or attempt to use any performance equipment. We cannot accept responsibility for damage to property, or injury to persons caused directly by third-party intervention and the client is liable to locate or replace any missing or stolen equipment belonging to or hired by the DJ for your function.
All bookings should be taken on the understanding that the venue is in possession of the necessary PPL/PRS Music Licence. We are not responsible if the venue is found to be in breach of the terms of their licence.
Venue Owners and/or Operator Conditions: It is a condition under the Public Liability Insurance Policy that the venues which the Insured may work, have in force their own Public Liability Insurance for the duration of the Insured’s use thereof and during periods required before and after such use for setting up, breaking down, rehearsals, sound checks and any other preparations.

POST CONTRACT PERFORMANCES

Requests for extra playing time will be granted where feasible, subject to venue restrictions & the agreement of venue officials where appropriate. This decision is entirely up to the DJ, and they have every right to finish at the allocated contracted time. Extra playing time will be charged at the rate of £50 per half hour to be paid in cash before the period of extra time commences.

POST-PERFORMANCE LOADING

Upon the conclusion of the engagement, we will require approximately one hour to remove the equipment, load equipment into our vehicle(s) and vacate the premises. Therefore, if the venue has a set time by which the premises must be vacated, you should set the end time of the engagement to be no less than forty-five minutes, but preferably one hour prior to this time.

We reserve the right to alter any or all of the above at any time.
